What to expect at our Airdrie clinic

Whether you have been to a chiropractor before or this is your first time, you can expect to be “WOW’d” by Access Chiropractic and Wellness. Aside from being one of the friendliest clinics in town, our patients often tell us that we have one of the most comprehensive and thorough initial visits they have ever experienced at any practitioner! This is what really sets us apart from other chiropractic clinics in Airdrie.

Your First Visit

Your first visit to Access Chiropractic will take approximately 45 minutes. To book your initial consultation, phone our clinic at 403-945-0855 and speak with our lovely receptionists or send us an email inquiry. We will find a time that suits your schedule. We are open until 8pm four nights a week and Saturdays from 9am until noon. Our staff will also send you a link to fill out the forms ahead of time so that the doctor will have a chance to read them over to prepare for your visit.

Digital Scans

Your visit will start a comprehensive, pain-free, technologically-advanced and computerized spinal scan to check the status of your nervous system. Following this scan will be a computerized range of motion scan to see how well (or not well!) your neck and back move. These two scans will be used as a baseline to which your Airdrie chiropractors will compare at future visits to determine objective changes in your spine.

Personal History

Following these two scans we will conduct a thorough history where you will be asked questions about your current health concerns as well as your past health history. However this is not limited to the pain that you are feeling. The doctors are concerned about your overall health. Past accidents or injuries, current lifestyle and activity, and nutrition and goals are all part of the picture.

Physical Exam

After the history is completed we move on to a physical examination which includes orthopedic, neuromuscular, and spinal testing. X-rays are sometimes required and we will determine this at your initial visit. Our doctors can fill out requisition forms to send you for testing at any diagnostic imaging facility. There are two imaging facilities in Airdrie: Pureform Diagnostics or EFW Radiology. Imaging done at these clinics is fully covered by Alberta Health Care so there is no out-of-pocket expense to you.

Health Records

Our chiropractors also have access to NETCARE, Alberta’s online databank where your imaging and testing records are stored. With your permission, they can access these records for a more complete picture. If you have had any form of diagnostic assessment completed, for example x-rays, ultrasound, MRI, CT or bone density scan, they will be able to access not only the reports but the actual pictures themselves.

Treatment Plan

Once all of your scans, history, and physical testing are completed, your Airdrie chiropractor will have a good idea of the root cause of your health issue. They will review with you their findings, explain the course of treatment, and, if safe and justified, treat you on your first visit. We want you to get healthy as quickly as possible, but we want you to be safe. Between our hands-on care and our home-care advice such as icing, stretching, and exercises (which we provide instruction on), we believe we can help you achieve your health goals
